Meet the Maker

Karley Hoffman, the creator behind Twisted Pine Pottery, finds great joy being immersed in the wilderness where she gathers inspiration and gives herself a chance to restore. The name “Twisted Pine” was drawn from the twisty, knotty bristlecone pines that are found at high altitudes. These ancient trees display immense resilience to harsh environments and can survive extreme drought and cold temperatures. This speaks to her as an inspiration for how to live our lives; no matter what the environment puts forth, we can always find a way to grow and stand tall.

She’s a collector of rocks, branches, driftwood, and anything that sparks her inspiration while on hikes.

Karley grew up in Michigan where she received a degree in sculpture focusing on ceramics from Central Michigan University. In 2014 she moved out west to Denver, Colorado. She was drawn to ceramics from a young age and after a few years of traveling and experiencing the corporate world, she decided it was time to get her hands back in the mud! Her connection to clay began the first time she collaborated with it and she finds it to be meditative, humbling and grounding.

Each object she makes is unique and one of a kind. She hopes you can find joy in any way you decide to use them. Who doesn’t love a cup of joe in a handmade mug? Cheers!
